This e-learning course is intended for all seafarers and for those designated to perform security duties. The course is designed in accordance to the competencies and the knowledge, understanding, and proficiencies prescribed in Section A-VI/6, Table A-VI/6-1 and Table A-VI/6-2 of the STCW Code, amended.
COURSE AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
After
successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
- Explain the maritime security terms and
definitions
- Identify the international maritime
security regulatory requirements
- Explain the requirements and importance of
maintaining security awareness and vigilance
- Familiarize with the contents of Ship Security
Plan and its purposes
- Explain the three security levels and the
actions required for each level
- Familiarize with the various types of
security equipment and systems
- Recognize security threats and risks
- Recognize procedures, techniques, and
methods of security relevant to ship situation, ship structures, and areas of
designation
