Progressive Development Course for Marine Engineers
This course is Management Level Engine
Officers. It is designed to provide enhancement training to further develop and
reinforce their know-how and skills in maintenance and repair,
trouble-shooting, maneuvering practices and emergency preparedness in view of
compliance with standard operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
Integrated in the
course program are the Personality Profiling and assessments of Technical
Skills, Human Factor Element, Soft Skills, and Behavioral Attributes with
participation of Psychologist.
Further, the course
takes into account the application of the competence element “use leadership
and managerial skills” prescribed in Table A-III/2 of the STCW Code,
particularly on the aspect of effective resource management.
COURSE AIMS & OBJECTIVES:
The course aims
to enable participants to acquire and further develop their technical skills
and behavioral aptitude in the safe operation and maintenance of engine
machineries and conduct standard operating procedures in normal and emergency
situations, taking into account the essentials of good marine engineering
practices and relevant industry guidelines.

- Master-Chief Engineer Relationship
- Engine Room Emergencies
- Simulation Exercises covering simple to complex scenarios using Full-Mission Engine Simulators

− Assessment & Decision Making
− Leadership & Management Skills
