This module deals with the minimum
theoretical knowledge that are required for the safe operation of fixed cranes
(G20) in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
The use of fixed-mounted cranes for moving
loads requires a continuous focus on hazards and safety in the operation. Understanding
of risks and correct behavior are integral part of the learning elements to
ensure that necessary safety factors are accordingly dealt with.
The coverage of the training duly adheres
with the training plan prepared by the Petroleum Cooperation Council under a
mandate from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway.
COURSE AIMS / OBJECTIVES:
This module shall
enable candidate to acquire the theoretical knowledge for the use of fixed
cranes (G20) focusing on the various requirements for the technical and
operational aspects of the equipment.
COVERAGE / PROGRAM FOCUS:
The training
deals with the following subject and training areas:
- Introduction
- Roles, belonging responsibilities, and
requirements for communication using fixed cranes
- Laws, regulations, standards, and the
manufacturer's instructions for use
- Requirements for documentation and control
of fixed cranes.
- Requirements for fixed crane construction
and operation
- Requirements for fixed- mounted cranes'
safety systems
- Calculation of the capacity of fixed
cranes.
- Requirements for winches
- Requirements for the use of winches for
lifting personnel, and other lifting devices for lifting personnel
- Requirements for the use, maintenance, and
control of wire rope
- Requirements for the use, maintenance, and control of hooks and blocks
- Requirements for basic safety requirements,
planning and risk assessment during lifting operations
