Deck Operational Level Assessment


Deck Operational Level Assessment (DOLA) is a pre-employment or pre-promotion assessment program intended for Deck Officers, in the operational level positions. Assessment tools and simulators scenarios are structured to evaluate the candidate's technical skills, as well as behavioral components affecting human factor element. 

Furthermore, the program may also be used to measure the competence of existing personnel to determine training needs, as well as for company's crew profiling.

ASSESSMENT COVERAGE:
The program consists of the following:

A. ABILITY PROFILING PROGRAM (APRO) TEST
The APRO is a computer-based psychometric assessment program developed to be used as a support tool during recruitment of seafarers and the screening of candidates for maritime studies. The test is an aid to identify the risk behavior of a candidate and to verify his/her development potential.

B. NEO PI PERSONALITY EVALUATION
This assessment is a computer based psychometric assessment to determine the critical thinking of the candidate as well as their strengths and weaknesses.

C. PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT
Conducted using Full-Mission Bridge Simulator and Desk Top Cargo Handling Simulator aided by other digital tools necessary (including simulator familiarization).

D. ONE-ON-ONE INTERVIEW
A one-on-one interview with a psychologist shall be arranged to provide individual behavioral interpretation and consultation.

TARGET CLIENT:
This assessment module is open to all Deck Operational Officers intending to be evaluated in the nominated capacity/position - based on competency level.
