Assessment Program Career Assessment Program 2 for Operational Level Deck Officers


Career Assessment Program (CAP) is a pre-employment or pre-promotion assessment program intended for all Deck Officers in the operational level positions. Assessment tasks and scenarios are well-designed & structured to evaluate candidate’s technical know-how and aptitude in the various areas of being a deck officer on board in accordance with the associated KUP of the STCW Code:

  • Deck Officer – Operational Level (STCW Code, Table A-II/I)

Assessment tasks and scenarios are well-designed & structured to evaluate candidate’s technical know-how and aptitude in the various areas of being a deck officer on board in accordance with the associated KUP of the STCW Code:

Further, the program may also be used to measure the competence of existing personnel from the Deck Department to determine training needs, as well as for company’s crew profiling.

ASSESSMENT COVERAGE:
This assessment program (CAP 2) consists of the following modules:

A. SIMULATOR-BASED ASSESSMENT
Conducted using Full-Mission Bridge Simulator

B. INTERVIEW ASSESSMENT
Interview / oral test to assess the candidate’s capacity relevant to specific rank/position

This assessment module is open to all Deck Officers intending to be evaluated in the corresponding capacity/position
