This course is intended for those who have already been issued a DPO certificate from The NI but are unable to revalidate their DPO certificate due to insufficient DP sea time.
The coverage of the course adheres with the standards & requirements established in Nautical Institute Circular No. 007 /2016.

Aims / Objectives
The overall course aim is to update the OPO’s with the latest rules and regulations, position references and sensors, known DP incidents and lessons learned; and to reinforce operational skills in planning and conduct of DP Operations, including Handling of Emergency
Situations.
Method
The conduct of the course delivery primarily employs lecture-presentation and series of practical exercises.
The training will be split equally between theory and simulation exercises.
Entry Requirement / Target Group
The minimum entry requirement is a DPO certificate issued by The NI.
Certificate
In order to be awarded a certificate of completion, the trainee must pass the online theoretical examination and a practical assessment.
On successful completion of the Course, the trainee will receive a course completion certificate, and an entry will be made in the appropriate logbook.
