» NSA Philippines Cadet Program

Norwegian Shipowners' Association (NSA) Philippines Cadet Program is the most outstanding and promising program of the Association of Shipowners' Training and Education Project (ASO-ATEP), the objective of which is to  develop young and competent Filipino seafarers through scholarship grants and best maritime education awarded to qualified applicants.

To meet this objective, the program  has tied up with four (4) different maritime academies: Philippine Merchant Marine Academy; John B. Lacson Colleges Foundation - Bacolod; DMMA College of Southern Philippines; and University of Cebu - Lapu Lapu and Mandaue; together we are working hand in hand to achieve the competencies needed from Filipino seafarers through quality education.

In 2006 the Norwegian Training Center Manila took the initiative of developing a cadetship program to address the growing demands  for competent Electro-Technical on-board to work within ship's engine department. 

The program is open to proficient licensed Electronics and Communications or Electrical Engineers. The competencies of these engineers are further develop through NTC-M's comprehensive ETO training program designed and approved by the Norwegian Maritime Directorate.
