Norwegian Maritime Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. (the Foundation) is a non-stock, non-profit organization formed primarily to establish, sponsor, support and maintain non-degree, special or continuing courses to upgrade the knowledge, qualification and training of Filipino seafarers working on abroad Norwegian-owned, controlled, managed or operated vessels in coordination with maritime institutions and enterprises in the Philippines and abroad. As such, the Foundation assists in the transfer of advanced maritime technological and scientific knowledge to qualified Filipino citizens and institutions.

The Norwegian Maritime Foundation of the Philippines Inc. (NMFPI) is inviting highly motivated technical persons to fill in the following positions:

 

Position/Title:

NAUTICAL TRAINING OFFICER 
   
The successful applicant will be responsible in the conduct of various nautical training programs along the lines of ship & cargo handling, safety, and management courses

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Certified Chief Officer or Master Mariner (preferred)

2. At least one (1) year sea service as senior/management level officer onboard a vessel engaged in international trade

3. Preferably with teaching experience

4. Completed IMO Model Course 6.09 and 3.12

Position/Title:

BRIDGE SIMULATOR INSTRUCTOR 
   
The successful applicant will be responsible in the conduct of various bridge related simulator courses

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Certified Master Mariner

2. At least one (1) year experience as Ships Master onboard a vessel engaged in international trade

3. Preferably with teaching experience using bridge simulators

4. Completed IMO Model Course 6.09 and 3.12

Position/Title:

FRAMO TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR 
   

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Certified Chief Engineer

2. At least one (1) year sea service as Chief Engineer onboard a vessel engaged in international trade

3. With experience onboard FRAMO equipped vessel

4. Preferably with teaching experience

5. Completed IMO Model Course 6.09 and 3.12

Position/Title:

CRANE OPERATION INSTRUCTOR 
   

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Certified Crane Operator

2. Relevant industry experience as crane operator

3. Preferably with teaching experience using crane simulators

4. Working knowledge on safety aspects and practices related to operation of hydraulic ship crane/offshore cranes.

5. Completed IMO Model Course 6.09 and 3.12

Position/Title:

WELDING SECTION HEAD INSTRUCTOR 
   
The successful applicant will be responsible for the development and conduct of training courses, testing and welder certification to DNV standards, organization and set-up of training / testing workshop / facilities installation and maintenance, and overall supervision of the delivery of services of the welding section to the maritime clients of the center.

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Design and development of welding courses on the common welding processes

2. Design/set-up/fabrication and installation of training and testing workshop and facilities

3. Conduct and delivery of welding instruction at all levels for most common welding processes

4. Welding inspection and testing standards for welding qualification

5. Monitoring and assessment of participants training progress

6. Completed IMO Model Course 6.09 and 3.12

Position/Title:

ELECTRO-TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR 
   

Qualification/Requirements:

1. BS Degree in Electronics & Communications Engineering or Electrical Engineering; or Bachelors degree in Industrial Education with Specialization in Electrical / Electronics or its equivalent

2. Relevant industry experience in the operation and maintenance of electrical/electronic equipment

3. Preferably, had sea-service as Electrician / Electro-technical Officer onboard seagoing vessel in an international trade

4. Preferably with teaching experience

5. Completed IMO Model Course 6.09 and 3.12

Position/Title:

CULINARY INSTRUCTOR 
   

Qualification/Requirements:

1. Baccalaureate Degree or Diploma/Certificate holder in Culinary Arts

2. Served as Chief Steward and/or Chief Cook onboard seagoing vessel in an international trade

3. With culinary management experience as an Executive Chef, Sous Chef, or Assistant Chef in a reputable F & B Service Institution

4. Preferably with teaching experience in line with F& B Services

5. Completed IMO Model Course 6.09 and 3.12

Position/Title:

SENIOR ACCOUNTANT 
   

Qualification/Requirements:

1. CPA with at least 3 years supervisory experience from a reputable company, hands-on experience in monthly financial books closing, budgeting, management reporting, treasury and payables accounting

2. Must be a graduate of a reputable school in Metro Manila with high integrity background

3. Preferably with experience in auditing from top auditing firms
